Kanban is a term in the language of Japan which means Visual Board was originally develop as a method to provide a signal. On the supply of production materials in Inventory System Just in Time. (the exact inventory of System time).
By applying this method of Kanban, production materials supplied and arrive on time in accordance with the amount need. So as to reduce the cost of handling and storage.
The term Kanban is derive from two words prefixed with Japan which is "Right" [看] meaning "seen" or "Visual". While the word "Ban" [板] if translated directly into became the "Board" or "card". So the term Kanban Board can be translated as "Visual" or "Visual Card".

Set firmly the limits of the job/task or the number of units of a product that is still in process (Work In Progress). The job or task that has been arrange in the workflow must be complete in accordance with the time period that is specify so that pending jobs or "still in the process of work" can be control may be minimal.
Whereas for products in the production process, due to the restrictions this WIP, inventory (Inventory) require would be minimal as possible.
Lead Time is the cycle time require to complete one unit of a product (or a job/task) from the beginning to be a finished product. In this Kanban, measurement and determination of the require Lead Time for the optimize process work. So predictable as accurately as possible and the time it takes any time as brief as possible.

Steps in applying the Kanban Method
There are three important steps in implementing Kanban Method. The third such important measures are as follows:
Visualization Workflow
A job can be more easily monitor and supervise if divide into sections/sub-sections or segment. Section or Segment of a job are then comply into a workflow and shown in a tabular or list of work. Which can be seen by all interest parties (stakeholders). As well as the list of ingredients so that production can be seen and notice by all stakeholders.

Limiting WIP (Work in Progress)
Set firmly the limits of the job/task or the number of units of a product that is still in process (Work In Progress). The job or task that has been arrange in the workflow must be complete in accordance with the time period that is specify so that pending jobs or "still in the process of work" can be control may be minimal.
