Supply chain management


Includes all parts of the supply chain including suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers, both directly and indirectly in meeting customer demand. Supply chain includes not only on the makers and suppliers but also to transport, warehouses, retailers, and even it's own customers.

At each organization such as manufacturing companies, covers the entire supply chain functions involved in charging acceptance and customer demand. These functions include, but are not limited to, new product development, marketing, operations, distribution, finance, and customer service.

Supply chains are dynamic and involve a constant flow of information, products, and financial services between the different levels. In fact, the main purpose of the various supply chains are meeting the needs of customers and in the process, making a profit for himself.

Supply chain raises an idea over the movement of products or supplies from supplier to manufacturer, distributors, retailers, customers throughout the chain.

Supply chain usually involves a variety of levels. These levels include:

  • Customers
  • Retailers
  • Distributor
  • The maker of the product
  • Component or raw material supplier.

Description:

each level of the supply chain is connected through the flow of products, information, and finances. This flow usually occurs directly and may be governed by one level or intermediaries. Each level do not want shown in the supply chain. The right supply chain design depending on customer requirements and the role performed by each level involved.

The goal of every supply chain should be to maximize the overall value. The value of the different supply chain between the end results are valuable for the customer and supply chain costs that occur in charging a customer's request.
The design, planning, and operation decision is running an important role in the success or failure of a company.

The stages in the supply chain decision making:

Strategy or design of the supply chain.

During this stage provide a marketing plan and the determination of the price for the product, the company decides how to structure the supply chain in the next few years.

Supply chain planning.

Decisions made during this phase is the time frame envisaged was a quarter of a year. Supply chain order determined the strategic phase is confirmed. This arrangement determine the barriers that exist. Planning for success maximize surplus supply chains that can be generated by providing planning obstacles that arise during the design phase or strategic.

Supply chain operations

Time spent here is the weekly or daily, and during this phase the company makes decisions based on individual customers ' orders.
