What project scope mean?

The scope of the project is the work that must be done in order to successfully achieve the project's objectives. simply put, defining the scope of a project is defining a line between what the project should do and what should not be included in the project, thus defining the work boundaries of project management, clarifying the objectives of the project and the main project deliverables.

In a project environment, the term "scope" includes two meanings: 

 

The product scope, i.e. the characteristics or functions contained in a product or service, and project scope, i.e. work that must be done to deliver a product or service with specified characteristics and functionality. In determining the scope, you first determine what is ultimately produced and what clearly definable characteristics it has. It should be noted that the characteristics must be clear, expressed in an approved form, such as words, charts or certain standards, can be understood by the project participants, must not be vague, ambiguous, on the basis of which further clarity of what needs to be done to produce the required products.

The properly determining the scope of the project is important to the success of the project, and if the scope of the project is not well defined, it may result in an increase in the final project cost, as poor project scope determination can lead to unexpected changes, thus disrupting the pace of implementation of the project, resulting in rework, extending project completion time, reducing labor productivity, and affecting the motivation of project team members.
