The project is to realize [purpose] and [goal] (more subdivided to realize [purpose]) by division of labor. the more people gather and the division of labor is repeated, the more likely it is to lose sight of what the original [purpose] and [goal] were. there are roughly three main reasons:
(1) the purpose and goal of the project are not communicated to the members
・ we do not organize what the project creates as [value] [purpose]
・ [purpose] and [goal] are not input correctly to the project members
(2) the scope of the project is ambiguous and unclear
・ the scope of work and deliverables for [purpose] and [target] are ambiguous and unclear
・ it is unclear what you do not do for [purpose] and [target]
・ do not share scope with project members
(3) [plan] for the scope of the project has not been created
・ because there is no plan for scope, it is not possible to track what was made to what extent
QCD MANAGEMENT FOR SCOPE IS NOT PERFORMED
for the above reasons, while the project site loses sight of what the original [purpose] and [goal] was, as a result of wastingly managing work that is not tied to [purpose] or [goal], project members will be chased by the work and results in front of them (scope will be described later).
as explained throughout this series, a project is an activity that is composed with the purpose of creating some kind of value, and the project manager is appointed as a mission to achieve this.
therefore, the project manager must sincerely strive for project scope management so that project members do not lose sight of their purpose.
purpose: manage what you do and what you don't do to achieve
so what is scope in the first place? scope defines what to make as a deliverable and what to what extent to do and not to achieve the project's [purpose] and [goal], and is roughly divided into the following two.
product scope
a list of deliverables to be completed in a project and shows the scope of the deliverables.
shows the scope of work on what must be done to get project deliverables.
in other words, project scope management means correctly grasping the purpose and goal of a project, identifying and controlling the scope necessary to achieve it (identifying what to do and what not to do).
Summary
the project is to realize [purpose] and [goal] by division of labor. the more people gather and the division of labor is repeated, the more likely it is to lose sight of what the original [purpose] and [goal] were. in order not to lose sight of the purpose and goal, it is necessary to properly carry out project scope management and control the project to be executed correctly toward the purpose and goal.
