The main purpose of creating this project was to study the topic "Information" in the 7th grade. Traditionally, this topic contains a large amount of theoretical information necessary for memorization and is not of great interest to students.
The aim of the project:
- - mastering new knowledge on the topic "Information";
- - application of the knowledge gained in the study of the topic "Information" to create the project "Forewarned is forearmed!";
- - development of creative potential of students in the process of working on the project;
- - development of cognitive interest in the subject through practical project activities.
Tasks:
-training: the study of new concepts and definitions on the topic "Information"; encouraging students to create new projects in the field of information technology;
+-developmental: development of communication skills and technical skills; development of the ability to evaluate the actions performed in the PowerPoint program for the registration of the results obtained;
-educational: education of conscientious attitude to work and responsibility; building self-confidence.
Project type: group; individual.
Methods: independent work on the project; explanation.
Equipment and methodological support:
- - personal computer;
- - PowerPoint program;
- - multimedia projector, screen;
- - multimedia presentation on the problematic issue;
- Textbook: Semakin I.G., Zalogova L.A., Informatics. Basic Course Textbook for Grades 7-9. M.: Binom, 2002.
Stages of the project:
Step 1. Planning the project "Forewarned is forearmed".
The goal of this phase is to prepare the class for the project.
Work on the project begins with a collective discussion of the upcoming work.
At this stage, the class is divided into 3 groups of 3-4 students each, and the children are independently grouped into these groups. All students discuss with the teacher the project plan, develop each stage separately. The questions of the educational topic are formulated: "Information".
The teacher at this stage acts as a consultant on the project. He advises each group to choose a problem question:
1) Which is more important: matter, energy or information?
2) Is information the property of mankind?
3) Is every knowledge useful?
Based on this, each group defines its own type of activity and reports it to the teacher. The teacher supervises that the same activities do not appear in the classroom.
Based on these questions, students independently begin to work on the project. In the process of work, students can seek help from a teacher or for help from each other.
Step 2. Work on the project. Create a presentation.
The purpose of the stage: to start the implementation of the project; Improving powerpoint skills.
At this stage, the project is designed in the form of a multimedia presentation (Appendix 1). The presentation should contain all the information that at least tells about the essence of the project.
The choice of the form of presentation is left to the students. As an example, the teacher can demonstrate several previously prepared presentations. After the screening, the students, together with the teacher, analyze what they should learn during the project:
- - create presentations in various ways;
- - design presentations in various styles;
- - work with text, drawings and other objects of presentations;
- - present a presentation;
- - perform various operations with slides;
- - demonstrate the presentation.
Students receive homework: to get acquainted with the basic principles of working in PowerPoint on special literature.
The main part of the project is the direct creation of the presentation, during which the student forms and works out the practical skills of working in PowerPoint. Students learn how to apply animation and sound effects to their presentations. This part of the project consists of several stages:
1. Acquaintance with the ways of creating presentations (the purpose of the stage: familiarizing students with the ways of creating presentations, the formation and consolidation of the acquired knowledge, skills and abilities);
2. Introduction of animation elements and sound effects into the presentation (the purpose of the stage: the formation of skills to introduce animation elements and sound effects into the presentation);
3. Editing the presentation (the purpose of the stage: improving the skills of working with the PowerPoint program);
1st group – presentation developers.
This group can include students who have a good knowledge of PowerPoint. Students choose the method of creating a presentation on their own.
The first step of the group's work is to define the concept of the presentation, mental construction, formulation of the idea. At this stage, such issues as the thematic direction of the presentation, the goals of its creation, the genre, the technologies and software tools used are determined. The development team works under the guidance of computer science teachers.
2nd group – web designers.
Web designers develop the concept of visual design of the presentation, which should correspond to the theme. Design development includes working on the composition and placement of elements on the page, color expansion, as well as determining which fonts will be applied. Designers determine which repeating blocks will be used on pages and what the composition of these blocks is.
The practical part of the component stage for designers is to introduce graphic design elements into the presentation.
3rd group – search – research.
This group should include students who have good skills in working on the Internet, who, with the help of various search engines, will search the Internet for information related to the topic of the project.
Students can also use the libraries of the school, educational institutions of higher education, as well as information from the relevant CDs. In this case, the computer science teacher provides assistance.
Step 3. Preparation for the delivery of the project.
The purpose of the stage: to present the created presentation to the audience.
At this stage of work on the project, each of the groups summarizes its work and submits the results for general discussion. All elements of the multimedia presentation are combined into one, and the show is held. Here, students work with the {View} {Demo} command or the {Showcase} button on the toolbar. Students view the presentation, make the necessary adjustments.
Preparation for the exam includes the work of the entire program:
- - design of the material on the stands of whatman or cardboard (with photographs, drawings, diagrams, diagrams that clearly represent the essence of the project);
- - preparation of an oral presentation of the project;
- - preparation of the team to answer tricky and serious questions of opponents;
- - creation of a special folder of documents (portfolio), which fully and convincingly presents the logic of work on the project.
- - each position is aimed at causing a lively response from the project participant.
The teacher at this stage plays the role of a consultant on the project, who analyzes the work performed.
Step 4. Conference.
The purpose of the stage: the implementation of reflective activity.
For the conference, extracurricular time is determined, a demonstration screen and a multimedia projector are prepared. Computer science teachers, class teachers and high school students are invited to the conference.
Students showcase their work, comment on them and answer questions from the audience.
After showing all the presentations, conclusions are drawn on the work done.
