Knowledge management concepts

For the project organization, knowledge is the intellectual resources it has, such as design and development results, various patents, non-patented technologies, design and development capabilities, and skills mastered by project members.

 


1. 

Knowledge should have four functions: externalization, internalization, mediation and cognition.

 

2. 

Classification of knowledge:

(1) explicit knowledge: can be expressed in words and numbers, and in the form of data, scientific laws, specific specifications and manuals, etc., can be transmitted between individuals at any time

(2) implicit knowledge: it is difficult to explain it with formulas or words, and it varies from person to person, such as personal subjective insight, intuition and premonition.

 

 

3. 

Knowledge management is the management of valuable information, including the identification, acquisition, decomposition, storage, transmission, sharing, value judgment and protection of knowledge, as well as the capitalization and productization of knowledge. knowledge management work includes:

(1) monitor and promote knowledge-related activities from top to bottom

(2) creation and maintenance of knowledge infrastructure

(3) update and transform knowledge assets

(4) use knowledge to increase its value

 

4. 

The goal of knowledge management:

(1) knowledge release so that members of the organization can apply knowledge

(2) ensure that knowledge is available when needed

(3) promote the effective development of new knowledge

(4) support for external acquisition of knowledge

(5) ensure the diffusion of knowledge within the organization

(6) make sure that people within the organization know where the knowledge is

 

5. 

The organization must have the following conditions to ensure the implementation of knowledge management:

(1) leaders attach importance to and personally participate

(2) formulate a reasonable knowledge management development strategy

(3) recommend a knowledge management department composed of personnel from different functional departments

(4) provide financial support for the development of knowledge management


(5) cultivate a culture of knowledge sharing and use

 

knowledge management is a management field with rich connotations, not only the management objects are diversified, but also the management angle is multi-faceted. in order to adapt individuals and organizations to the increasingly complex and dynamic environment of modern technology, knowledge management should play a role as an auxiliary tool.
